FAQ
What is past life regression?
Past life regression or transpersonal regression therapy, as I am trained in, helps us explore our current life and past lives to identify the source of issues and address the root cause. It integrates the spiritual and transcendent aspects of our experience with the framework of modern psychotherapy. You do not need to believe in past lives to participate in it.
How can past life regression help me?
Getting to the root cause of an issue that’s been bugging you allows you to not only understand where the issue is coming from or why it is an issue in the first place, but it also allows you to tackle it head-on. We go back to the origin of problems and clarify past experiences. Whether that is in childhood or past lives, it doesn’t quite matter. The techniques used might be different, but the end result is the same: we heal and release what no longer works for us.
What is a past life regression session like?
Every session is different and is a collaboration between you, the client and me. We will work together to explore or get to the source and root cause of what you would like to work on. Each session is around an hour and a half to two hours.
I’ve had the privilege to learn many different techniques, such as rapid transformational therapy, coupled with inner child work, hypnotherapy and transpersonal regression therapy. I’m able to address many of my clients’ issues with this wide suite of techniques.
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic technique that guides your mind into a state of deep inward focus. If you’ve ever been completely absorbed while watching a movie, it’s a similar state of mind. It’s also like being in a state of flow when you are working on something. This focus gives your mind more control, not less. The critical chattering mind is bypassed and it allows you to access your subconscious mind. Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious mind and can reframe limiting beliefs, values and habits deep in the subconscious.
What is Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT)?
Founded by Britain’s most famous therapist Marisa Peer, it is a method that is getting extraordinary results. It combines the best of hypnotherapy with unique methods for permanent, lasting change.
RTT delivers extraordinary change by reframing our core beliefs, values, habits, and emotions deep in the subconscious.
How does RTT work?
RTT works with the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is a resource, like a vault that stores all our experiences and what we have learned. Experiences that have shaped our feelings and why we react to certain things in particular.
From a young age, we have been taught to navigate the world with our conscious mind. However, change directed by our conscious mind has limits. Will power alone cannot break the chains of bad habits or fears.
To change, we need more than willpower and logic. We need to connect to our subconscious mind. RTT gets you unstuck very quickly and easily. During RTT, we access the subconscious using hypnosis. Hypnotic trance is a completely natural state of inward focus. It is similar to the experience of a flow state.
We can access limiting beliefs formed many years ago. RTT helps you change perceptions and thoughts at the subconscious level.
What is Hypnosis?
It is a natural state of mind of deep inward focus. It is like an experience of being in a flow state and like being completely absorbed while watching a movie. This focus gives your mind more control, not less. The critical chattering mind is bypassed.
When you’re in hypnosis, you’re in the alpha brainwave frequency; the same frequency you’re in when you are deeply relaxed in the moment just before you drift off to sleep. It allows you to access your subconscious mind.
Hypnosis sessions have been shown to be effective in lessening chronic pain, the pain of childbirth, and other medical procedures; treating smoking addiction and post-traumatic stress disorder; and easing anxiety or phobias.
Will my mind be controlled by hypnosis?
No, you cannot be made to do what you do not want to do in hypnosis. And you cannot stay in hypnosis if you do not want to. The mind is more suggestible in hypnosis and will accept things in hypnosis more so than outside of hypnosis but it still has to be things that you already want to happen.
Is there scientific research on the existence of past lives?
Founded in 1967 by Dr. Ian Stevenson, the Division of Perceptual Studies (DOPS) at the University of Virginia is a research group devoted to the rigorous evaluation of empirical evidence for extraordinary human experiences and capacities.
A major area of investigation of DOPS Research is Children Who Remember Previous Lives. More information is found at https://med.virginia.edu/perceptual-studies/
Why therapy? I don’t have any major issues or traumas.
A common misconception is that therapy is only for serious traumas or to do with experiencing a crisis. To be perfectly honest, the world has been going through a crisis, a pandemic of epic proportions affecting everyone globally. The pandemic has forever changed the way we live and work. More than ever, people are seeking answers, questioning their lives, their work, or their purpose.
Therapy can be a space to explore with curiosity or identify and clarify what is on your mind. It can also be just about removing roadblocks with the tools and techniques to help you make that practical shift in your life.
What is online therapy and is it effective?
Online therapy also known as telehealth, teletherapy, or e-therapy occurs through video, smartphones, or email. Research has consistently shown that online therapy is effective. For example, a 2014 study published in the Journal of Affective Disorders showed that online treatment was as effective as in-person and even had a better long-term impact.
In 2018, another study found that online CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is ‘adequate, acceptable and practical health care.’
Online therapy also has plenty of benefits that increase its effectiveness compared to in-person therapy. Since the sessions are conducted online and in the comfort of your own home, you can often schedule your sessions for times that are the most convenient for you.
There are also cost savings associated with not having overhead costs from a physical location and these cost savings are passed on to you, making online therapy much more accessible and affordable.
